1. What programs does Arco Aviation Academy offer?
We offer comprehensive drone training programs, including Basic, Visual Line of Sight (VLOS), Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS)
2. How much does drone training cost?
Our course fees vary depending on the training program and duration. Please contact our admissions team (info@arcoaviationacademy.ng) for the latest course catalogue and pricing.
3. How long does the training take?
Basic RPAS Certificate: 5 Days.
VLOS: 15 Days
BVLOS: 7 Days (VLOS is a prerequisite for BVLOS)
4. Is there recurrent training? How often?
Yes, recurrent training is required periodically to maintain proficiency and regulatory compliance as determined by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
5. Can a drone pilot fly at night? Is there a night rating?
Currently, night operations are only allowed with specific regulatory approvals. We offer night operations modules on BVLOS and VLOS for pilots who wish to gain additional proficiency in night flying.
6. Do I get a license or a certificate after the training?
Upon completion, you will receive a Completion Certificate from AAA. Then a Competency Certificate will be issued by the NCAA (Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority) to operate as VLOS, BVLOS or both.

8. I do not have an aviation background. Can I get a Drone Certificate?
Yes! Our training is designed to take you from beginner to advanced, even if you have no prior aviation background.

10. What subjects do I need to study to become a drone pilot?
Key subjects include Principles of Flight, Air Law, Meteorology, Navigation, Human Factors, Communication, Emergency procedures, and Practical Flight Training.
11. Where is the school located?
We are based in Nigeria, with facilities designed to accommodate practical and theoretical training in compliance with ICAO standards. Our inaugural location is in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, with plans to expand to other locations in Nigeria.
12. Do you offer Hostel Accommodation for students based outside Port Harcourt?
At the moment, the school does not have boarding facilities; we can, however, advise on accommodation arrangements that are proximal and affordable.
13. What are the prerequisites for enrolment?
Must be at least 18 years old
Basic proficiency in English
No prior aviation experience required for Basic/VLOS courses; BVLOS require prior VLOS certification.
14. Do you offer job placement assistance?
While we do not guarantee placement, student networking and interaction as well as knowledge and skills acquired during and after the training increase the opportunities to secure a job related to your training.
15. Do you offer financing options or scholarships?
No. Scholarships and discounts may be available periodically. Terms and Conditions apply.
16. What type of drones do you use for training?
We use a range of professional drones, including DJI Matrice, DJI Enterprise, and other specialized drones for advanced modules
17. Can I take online courses?
This is not available at the moment; however, there are plans to make some theoretical modules available online in the future.
18. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfers, credit/debit cards, and instalment plans.
19. Do you offer discounts for bulk enrolments?
Yes! We offer discounts for group enrolments, such as corporate teams or training departments.
20. Can I work for a drone company with your certification?
Yes, you can work for drone companies with our certification. We offer training aligned with industry and regulatory standards, and our graduates can go on to work in sectors like surveying, inspection, security, environmental monitoring, and others, where they will build their experience.
